Not having renewed the pages for some days,recently I am busying perpareing for the term-exam.You konw,all curriculums be imposed to us are really boring,but,we are required to pass the exam for the master degree.So I had to sit in classroom to recite tiresome texts but deadly indispensable .

Now,after a boring school-life day,I should take a break in spite of the approached examed-day,as a old saying goes that all work not play makes Jake a dull boy.So I open the NoteBook ,trippingly hit the keybord,it seems to that all fatigue and annoyance were running away.

I would like to say that Maja Ivarsson and the Sounds are excellent. I think that they are good but I have heard this before. The music is what dance punk should sound like: up tempo, intense and of course- loud and in your face. Is Ivarsson like Pat Benetar? No. She is more like Dale Bozio (except Ivarsson can sing), the girls from The Raincoats, Bush Tetras, and Deborah Harry. Ivarsson's ripping vocals bring back the old women punk rockers who were constantly played on college radio stations across the country. Queen of apologies is a perfect example. The energy of that song will make teens close their bedroom doors and dance until the ceiling caves in. Turn it up and have fun.

I really liked the two tracks I'd heard by this band, "Purple" and "Down Down". They were so haunting yet fun. Well, the rest is mostly too slow and moody. It's a good CD that i will continue to listen to, but the best tracks are on compilations I already own. It's not hard to see why those two got air and the rest did not. Still, This is a good CD, and even a GREAT CD, if you like the darker, moodier side of chill-out. I'm just a little too perky for this, i guess.

Virgin Steele has done it. The evolution of the band is now complete. They are a fully symphonic and progressive (in the good sense of the word) melodic metal outfit now, and an absolute beast of a band at that. I had high expectations for this album, and they have exceeded them. Finally, David Defeis has begun to maximize even his enormous potential, writing better, more layered, more textured, more complex songs than ever before. As a vocalist, he has finally toned down the more extreme of his eccentricities, while remaining one of the most versatile and recognizable singers in metal. The guitars are as good as ever, though they now are less of a dominating element in the overall sound. The production is the best of any V. S. album except perhaps the very heavy Invictus, and the rhythm section sounds better than ever, with the addition of a full-time bassist and a digital drum kit.

If anything is capable of bringing this band the greater recognition they so richly deserve, it is this album, which should appeal to any progressive, symphonic, epic, or power metal fan with a pulse, or for that matter to any human being with a soul. Other bands had better be glad that art is not a competition, because if it were Virgin Steele would be winning by a large margin. Five stars is an understatement. This is a classic.
